Oregon Food Bank's two Portland-area locations hosted 616 volunteers for a day of service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. In a single day, volunteers repacked 123,000 pounds of food, the equivalent of 102,514 meals - more food than is typically processed at Oregon Food Bank in an entire work-week!

Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon (Regence) has been instrumental in strengthening the internal structure of Oregon Food Bank and continues to be a powerful OFB Network partner. In July 2012 alone, Regence’s statewide food drive collected 610 pounds of non-perishable food, raised $2,572 in general support. In addition, Regence employees volunteered 293 hours at various agencies throughout the state. What’s more, Regence recently made a $25,000 donation to Oregon Food Bank and issued a match challenge to donors in our quarterly newsletter. Inspired? The Kresge Foundation has awarded Oregon Food Bank an $800,000 challenge grant to complete the purchase and renovations of OFB West. Where there's a will, there's a way. And former board member Olivia Smith selected a bequest to recognize Oregon Food Bank in her will.

Albertsons donated 3-million pounds of food to OFB during fiscal year 2008-09 – making it the number one food donor within any single fiscal year. That’s enough food to help agencies fill about 60,000 emergency food boxes for hungry families.
