Most wanted charades

Summary: This activity teaches students about foods that Oregon Food Bank needs the most.

Time: 20 to 30 minutes

Age: Six to adult

Materials: Most wanted food cards

Preparation: None

Group size: 10 to 40

Procedure:

1. Divide students into 2 teams. Tell players you will give them a word to act out. They can use their whole bodies to spell out or motion what their word is, but they can't talk.

2. Give the first team a word to act out that represents a most wanted food item.

3. Tell the team that it can nominate one member to act out the word, or the team members can spell out the word as a team with their bodies. Allow the students to be creative.

4. Have the second team guess the word. Once they have guessed correctly, write the word on the board.

5. Give the second team a word to act out and repeat steps three and four.

6. After all of the words have been acted out, you will have a list of Oregon Food Bank's most wanted items to prepare for your food drive.

Other Details:

Most wanted items:
Protein - tuna, beans, etc.
Canned fruit - peaches, pears, etc.
Canned vegetables - corn, green beans, etc.
