Food Repack

Help OFB process food donations.

In Portland

Fresh Alliance

Volunteers sort, inspect and pack fresh food donated by local grocery stores.

  • Long-term commitment preferred.
  • Must sign up in advance.
  • Age 16 and up.
  • Must be comfortable lifting 25 pounds, bending and standing on concrete in a temperature-controlled (50 degree) room.
  • Shifts: Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to noon, Mondays through Thursdays, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Perishables Repack Room

Help repackage frozen food donations into family-sized portions.

  • Must sign up in advance.
  • Age 16 and up.
  • Must be comfortable bending and standing on concrete in a temperature-controlled (50 degree) room.
  • Shifts: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon.

Volunteer Action Center
Volunteers repack bulk food, sort canned food, label packages and complete mailing projects.

  • Must sign up in advance. We are not able to accommodate walk-in volunteers.
  • No long-term commitment required.
  • Good opportunity for individuals or groups of 10 or more.
  • Shifts: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 to 8:30 p.m., Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon.
  • Additional shifts are available for volunteer groups, morning and afternoon shifts are available Tuesdays through Fridays.
  • Age 6 and up.
  • Adults must accompany volunteers under 16 years old.

Food Recovery Center
Volunteers sort canned and boxed food into categories for distribution.

  • Long-term commitment preferred.
  • Must sign up in advance.
  • Age 11 and up.
  • Must be comfortable bending and standing on concrete.
  • Shifts: Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to noon and Thursdays, 1 to 3 p.m. 

In Hillsboro

Volunteer Action Center

  • Age 11 and up.
  • Adults must accompany volunteers under 16 years old.
