Volunteer shift
24 shifts from December 6 to June 6
Reynolds Middle School Food Pantry - Partner Agency Support
Shift Description and Tasks:
Partner Agencies serve as the distribution centers that directly provide fresh produce and shelf-stable foods to people who need it. Shifts might include:
- Unloading/loading food deliveries from trucks
- Repackaging produce
- Greeting people and helping them shop
- Loading food boxes into cars
- Assisting with traffic direction
- Cleaning up after the distribution
How-To Sign Up:
To ensure volunteers can access and manage their own schedules, this system requires a unique email address for each individual.Additional options in our Sign Up How-To.
Any questions email us at sadrinnam@latnet.org.
Note About Available Times:
You may see some dates/times with a red number of spots left (ex: 2 slots left.) This appears when there are less than a certain percentage of spots of the total shift size. If there is no red text, there is still room, it does not mean that it is full. When all slots are taken, the date/time disappears.
Shift Requirements:
- Because this is a school-based food pantry, all volunteers need to apply for a free background check through Reynolds School District. This can either be done upon arrival on site or beforehand by using this link
- Ability to stand, sit, and squat; some tasks require lifting up to 40 lbs
- Willingness to work indoors or outdoors in varied weather conditions. Wearing layers is recommended. -Please bring your refillable water bottle if you have one and help us avoid plastic waste :)
- Those performing mandated community service will need to bring an Oregon Food Bank timesheet to each shift for signatures. Please contact us for more information volunteer@oregonfoodbank.org
Please note:
If a volunteer does not show up for a shift without cancelling the night before at the latest, after the second time all future sign-ups of that volunteer will be cancelled in order to open up spots for other volunteers.
