CORPORATE DONOR OF THE MONTH: Bank of America
APRIL 1, 2019 – Oregon Food Bank is proud to recognize Bank of America and its employees as the corporate donor of the month for April.
“Bank of America’s commitment to Oregon Food Bank over the years continues to provide the food that hundreds of volunteers will repack into thousands of meals for those most in need in our community, helping remove some of the barriers to building financially stable futures.”
-Roger Hinshaw, Bank of America’s Market President for Oregon and SW Washington
For the eighth straight year, Bank of America and its employees have been the presenting sponsor of Martin Luther King Day of Service at Oregon Food Bank, bringing in employees to volunteer as well funding the 75,000+ pounds of food processed during the day. But the employees don’t just volunteer that one day; every month, there are Bank of America groups volunteering at Oregon Food Bank. Annually, they contribute over 1,000 hours of volunteer time to Oregon Food Bank.
Stretching their support even further, Bank of America doesn’t end with MLK Day of Service. Every year, Bank of America participates in a national campaign, Give-a-Meal, where they match $2 for every $1 donated by individuals. This campaign helps raise much needed local funds and awareness of the issue of hunger. In 2018, over $42,000 was raised thanks to their generosity!
Bank of America is a key partner in the fight against hunger. We’re grateful for all you do including making and matching donations, encouraging and facilitating volunteerism and building awareness about food insecurity.
Thank you Bank of America for all you do to help end hunger and feed the human spirit!
