Election-day victories for those experiencing hunger

November 8, 2018 – Because of you and voters across the state, we helped pass laws that support people experiencing hunger in Oregon and defeat laws that didn’t.

In the metro area, an affordable housing bond passed that will create homes for more than 12,000 people across the region.

Across Oregon, voters overwhelmingly approved Measure 102, which allows local governments to work with non-profits and the private sector to build more affordable housing with bond dollars.

Measure 105 was also defeated, which ensures that Oregonians across the state will not be randomly stopped, detained, or interrogated just because they may be perceived to be an undocumented immigrant.

In Portland, the Portland Clean Energy Fund passed to create job and farmer training programs, weatherization and renewable energy for Portlanders with low incomes.

Thank you for all of your support and hard work on these ballot measures. We believe it takes a community to end hunger, and we saw our community step up and take action these past few months. It has and it will make a difference to the lives of people experiencing hunger.
