Oregon Food Bank Network named one of 2017 Recycler of the Year Award Winners

July 14, 2017 – The Association of Oregon Recyclers presented their 2017 Recycler of the Year Awards at their conference last month. The Oregon Food Bank Network received the Alice Soderwall Reuse & Waste Prevention Award for the grocery rescue program Fresh Alliance.

“We are honored to be recognized for our innovative partnership with grocers,” said Katie Pearmine, Strategic Sourcing Manager at Oregon Food Bank.  “Fresh Alliance diverts more than 18 million pounds of food annually from waste and compost to help our neighbors experiencing hunger throughout Oregon and Clark County Washington.”

Sanne Steinstra of Washington County and Dena Hastings of Clackamas County accepted the award on behalf of the Oregon Food Bank Network.
