Having started with food and cash donation drives and volunteer events, to now sponsoring a food delivery truck, Schnitzer’s commitment to ending food insecurity grows stronger each year. Schnitzer Steel illustrates its commitment to fighting food insecurity every day through their biannual drive at local Pick ‘n Pull stores. Employees and customers are tireless partners and advocates in the fight against hunger throughout Oregon, and Clark County, WA. Collectively, through their drive, they donate over $20,000 providing critical support for our community.
Continuing their support this year, Schnitzer Steel is a Silver Sponsor at Oregon Harvest Dinner, our signature fundraising event and furthers its support to our local delivery trucks through a 3-year partnership.
Aiming to have a significant and long-term impact on ending hunger, Schnitzer Steel took their support even further this year by generously advocating for warehouse and distribution funding on behalf of Oregon Food Bank during our state legislative session.
And during Hunger Action Month, their executive team lends a helping hand by volunteering to repack food in our Volunteer Action Center.
Altogether, Schnitzer Steel and Pick ‘n Pull contributed over $55,000 to Oregon Food Bank in the last year. We’re grateful for all they do to help us end hunger in our community!
