ACTION ALERT: Tell Oregon Legislature to prioritize fighting hunger

February 10, 2017 – Oregon has a hunger crisis. Over 270,000 people a month access food from a pantry. Despite having the highest spike in the hunger rate in the entire nation, proposed budgets from the Governor and Legislature would cut food assistance.

The Oregon Legislature is now in session and they’ve already begun their work on the state budget for 2017-2019. Now is a key time for them to hear from us about the importance of funding food programs so that hunger relief efforts are prioritized in the budget.

We know that food is a cornerstone to good health, educational outcomes, and economic progress. It is a basic human need. Cutting food assistance will undermine our success as a state.

That’s why we need you to act today.
