Oregon Food Bank Distributions Not Included in Area Ground Beef Recall

As area media outlets and food safety advocates have reported, a significant volume of ground beef from Interstate Meat Distributors has been recalled due to possible E. coli contamination. Though we work with this producer, thorough investigation has determined that no beef distributed through Oregon Food Bank is part of the recall.

Given many pantries and meal sites receive donated food from a variety of sources — including local retailers, and consumers — we strongly encourage community members to carefully inspect any ground beef received or purchased in recent days to ensure that it is not part of the withdrawal. Labels for the affected products can be found here.

For affected lot numbers, dates and other product details, please visit the USDA Food Safety & Inspection Service website.
