Willamette Week’s Best of Portland 2020 Nominations Are In!

Thanks to you – our community – Oregon Food Bank is nominated in two categories for Willamette Week’s Best of Portland. With more than 73,000 votes cast, we are a finalist in the “Best Community-Driven Nonprofit” and “Best Human Service Nonprofit” categories. During a time when we are all more separated, due to COVID-19, Oregon Food Bank is continually encouraged by the support we are receiving from our community.

In response to the pandemic, our work so far has included:

  • Building out a full page of community resources and advertising across traditional and digital platforms in 11 languages common to the Pacific Northwest
  • Partnering with new organizations to distribute grocery gift cards to people who may have difficulty accessing other food assistance: Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon (APANO), Creating Conscious Communities of People Outside [C(3)PO], Latino Leaders Group, and Black Parent Initiative
  • Implementing innovative, safe food distribution models, purchasing food from local farmers impacted by coronavirus, and supporting partners financially to keep neighbors fed in every corner of our region

Show your commitment to this important crisis work! Beginning May 22, you can vote for Oregon Food Bank in Willamette Week’s Best of Portland at bop.wweek.com.

Thank you for all you’ve done – and will continue to do – to help us all #EmergeStronger.
