CORPORATE DONOR OF THE MONTH: Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon
August 2021 – Oregon Food Bank is delighted to honor Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon as our August 2021 Corporate Donor of the Month.
Over the past year, Regence quickly and generously responded to the need for food assistance in the wake of COVID-19. Regence awarded Oregon Food Bank with a $50,000 grant for pandemic relief, which supported our rapid response efforts. In addition, 442 Regence employees stepped up to give over $56,000, which was then matched by the company, totaling $113,112 through their workplace giving program.
As nearly 1 in 5 Oregonians experienced food insecurity over the last year, organizations like Oregon Food Bank worked tirelessly to nourish our neighbors in need. Through a strong partnership cultivated over the last two decades, Regence is proud to play a role in addressing this critical social determinant of health and improving the well-being of our communities.

We are grateful to Regence for supporting not only Oregon Food Bank, but also our local and nationwide partners. Regence supports our friends at Food Lifeline in Washington and Second Harvest in Idaho, among many other hunger relief organizations. Last year, the national Blue Cross Blue Shield network partnered with Feeding America to promote vaccine education.
While we haven’t been able to welcome Regence employee volunteer groups to the food bank over the past year, we are grateful for employees who donated time in other ways, such as sharing expertise with our team and joining us for virtual events. We are excited to see them in person again in the future.
