Oregon Lawyers Against Hunger: A Legacy of Community Support and Action
Since 1997, Oregon Lawyers Against Hunger (OLAH) has raised over $3.5 million to support hunger relief efforts through the Oregon Food Bank Network. This effort to end hunger is powered by the generosity of Oregon’s legal community and a shared belief that no one should be hungry.
Every fall, the legal community unites to raise awareness about hunger and its impact through an annual virtual fundraiser. Law firms across Oregon create online donation pages, match employee gifts, provide grant funding and dedicate volunteer hours. Through this partnership, OLAH has consistently raised significant funds and mobilized a strong network of legal professionals to advance food justice.
"As President of Oregon Lawyers Against Hunger, I see firsthand how vital donations are for Oregon Food Bank. These funds allow them to provide culturally specific and essential foods that truly meet the needs of our communities. Every contribution helps ensure that we are not just distributing food, but also building community. Your support makes a meaningful impact." — Makenzie Kaiser, Bullivant Houser, Oregon Lawyers Against Hunger President
The OLAH Board is entirely volunteer-run and made up of dedicated lawyers committed to ending hunger and addressing its root causes. Oregon Food Bank appreciates OLAH's tremendous work in raising awareness about hunger and offering ways for the legal community to get involved and make a difference.
This year, OLAH is more determined than ever to address the rising need in Oregon. Last year, there were 1.9 million visits to food assistance sites through the Oregon Food Bank Network — a 14% increase from the previous year. We are seeing record numbers of visits. Please donate today to support this campaign and help families across Oregon and Southwest Washington.
