CORPORATE DONOR OF THE MONTH: Kaiser

JANUARY 2018 – Thank you to Kaiser Permanente for its significant contributions to fighting hunger in Oregon and Clark County, Washington. We are proud to recognize Kaiser as the Corporate Donor of the Month for January.

“Our mission is to improve the health of the community, which is about much more than treating illness – it’s about keeping people well, which starts with meeting basic needs like food and housing. We’re grateful that Oregon Food Bank has been our like-minded partner in this mission for over 10 years. Together, we’ve worked on programs to prevent diabetes, and teamed up on policy and advocacy efforts. Our employees have been enriched by the many opportunities to volunteer at Oregon Food Bank. We look forward to continuing our work together in 2018 and beyond.”

-Molly Haynes, Director of Community Health, Kaiser Permanente

Kaiser Permanente and its employees demonstrate their strong commitment to Oregon Food Bank through a number of ways. Kaiser employees generously donate over 500 hours a year through volunteerism and are regularly found repacking food in our Volunteer Action Center. Furthering their support, Kaiser employees generously choose Oregon Food Bank through its annual Employee Giving Campaign – resulting in over $35,000 annually, including Kaiser’s company match.

In addition, the Kaiser Foundation supports our hunger prevention programs like the Health Care Partnerships program. This root-cause work improves population health by partnering with health care providers and policy makers to screen for food insecurity in a clinical setting – connecting food insecure patients with food and nutrition education resources.

Thank you, Kaiser Permanente and your employees, for your extraordinary support of Oregon Food Bank!
