At Oregon Food Bank, we believe food is a human right. We hold people experiencing hunger and food insecurity in Oregon and Southwest Washington at the center of our actions and decisions because we envision a community where everyone can fully participate, prosper and have reliable access to food that is both nutritious and culturally-familiar.
Our work is about more than distributing food — we’re working to end hunger for good. That takes community-building, power-sharing, wide-reaching advocacy, civic engagement and more. And while it is true that every dollar donated to Oregon Food Bank generates the equivalent of three meals worth of food, your support means so much more to the fight to end hunger at its roots. Of course community generosity helps to provide meals to hard-hit communities — and this critical support also helps to build a movement toward resilient communities that never go hungry, led by people who have lived experience with food insecurity and know what it takes to end hunger at its roots.
