CORPORATE DONOR OF THE MONTH: Providence

FEBRUARY 2020 – It is with great pleasure that we honor Providence Health & Services and its employees for their longstanding partnership with Oregon Food Bank.

We are grateful to Providence for sharing our belief that food and health are basic human rights for all.

For February 2020, we are naming Providence Health & Services our Corporate Donor of the Month.

“Providence Health & Services’ 15 year partnership with Oregon Food Bank is rooted in our parallel missions to build healthy communities. Our support of OFB, as it works toward eliminating food insecurity in our region, is seen not only in direct contributions, but in our collective trust that together we will make a difference.”

– Joseph Ichter, DrPH, MHA, Director, Community Health Investment

Through their innovative partnership with Oregon Food Bank, the team at Providence is helping people access nutritious food today, and building community power to eliminate the root causes of hunger for good. From hosting food and fund drives, to employee volunteerism, to making generous financial contributions that increase our community’s access to fresh foods, Providence is at the forefront to help.

Recently, Providence Health & Services provided funding to open two new food pantries and a mobile pantry in Hood River, significantly helped to increase access to fruits and vegetables across the Portland Metro area, and helped launch a Cooking Matters pilot with Familias en Accion to train volunteers to deliver nutrition education in Spanish.

Thank you, Providence Health & Services, for helping to build resilient communities that never go hungry!
