Corporate Donor of the Month: Bank of America

MAY 2018 – Oregon Food Bank is proud to recognize Bank of America and its employees as the donor of the month for May.

“Bank of America’s commitment to Oregon Food Bank over the years continues to provide the food that hundreds of volunteers will repack into thousands of meals for those most in need in our community, helping remove some of the barriers to building financially stable futures.”

-Roger Hinshaw, Bank of America’s Market President for Oregon and SW Washington

For seven straight years, Bank of America and its employees have presented MLK Day of Service at Oregon Food Bank, bringing employees to volunteer as well funding the +75,000 pounds of food processed during the day. But the employees do not just volunteer that one day; every month, there are Bank of America groups volunteering at Oregon Food Bank, and yearly they contribute over 1000 hours of volunteer time to Oregon Food Bank.

And the financial support does not end with MLK Day of Service. The Bank participates in a national campaign, Give-a-Meal, where Bank of America matches $2 for every $1 donated by individuals. This campaign helps raise much needed local funds and awareness of the issue. We look forward to partnering with Give-a-Meal again this year and fundraising even more!

Bank of America is a key partner in the fight against hunger. Thank you for making and matching donations, encouraging and facilitating volunteerism, and building awareness about food insecurity.
