Special delivery from Swire Coca-Cola

February 21, 2019 – Yesterday, we received 864 cases of water from Swire Coca-Cola, USA, the bottler for Coca-Cola and other beverages in Oregon and 12 other western states. The donation was in response to Governor Brown’s call for public support during the Governor State Employee Food Drive, held every February.

“We value highly the importance of supporting the local communities in which we live and work, and part of that commitment is helping Oregonians in the greatest need,” said Brian Hagler, Wilsonville Sales Center Manager for Swire Coca-Cola. “When one in eight Oregonians face food insecurity and 194,000 of those are children, we feel humbled and privileged to be able to help our fellow citizens.”

The 864 cases of Dasani water arrived yesterday on a truck from Swire Coca-Cola’s local production facility in Wilsonville and will be distributed in the coming weeks.

The Governor’s State Employees Food Drive is the 37th annual partnership with Oregon Food Bank when all state agencies, commissions, board members and employees participate in this annual event. Due to increased need this year as community members continue to recover from the impacts of the extended federal government shutdown, all Oregonians are invited to donate.

“We’re glad this donation will help those in need,” added Brian. “We ask those who enjoy our products, whether they received them from a food bank or purchased them in a store, to please recycle your bottle and can so we can all minimize our impact on the environment.”
